I'm Melissa Nikolakakos, a Republican running for Re-election to House District 20 in Great Falls. I'm an educator, 4th generation Montanan, mom of four, twenty-year military spouse, and experienced legislator. I pride myself in serving others.

A quality education for our children with deep parental involvement is my passion. I've served as a pre-school president, led with the "Raising Readers" Program, serve as a Girl Scout Service Unit Leader, and have served countless times as a PTA president. 

I'm running for re-election to continue fighting for common-sense conservative solutions in Helena and foster a better community for our kids and families. Born and raised in small town Montana I want to ensure those time-tested values are at the front and center of our legislative process.

I ran my first campaign on lower taxes, the establishment of a property tax Homestead Exemption, boosting teacher pay, and stronger schools. I was  proud to have co-sponsored the STARS act which delivered increased teacher pay, to have worked to pass the largest income tax cut in Montana history, and to have supported Governor Gianforte's Homestead Exemption which reduced property taxes on more than 90% of Great Falls homeowners by 20%.

As a freshman legislator I passed seven bills into law including legislation that bolstered teacher recruitement & retention, enhanced mental health service availability in schools, expanded speech pathology services at cost savings, and cut red tape/burdensome regulation. 

There's still work to do. As a memeber of the Education, Taxation, and Human services committees I'll continue to work tirelessly to represent you and Great Falls to the best of my god given ability.
